EM 385-1-1 12-Hour Online Refresher (2024 USACE Book)
Course overview
This 12-hour refresher updates Site Safety and Health Officers and anyone who has completed a past 40-hour EM 385-1-1 (2014 USACE Book) course. Special emphasis is on the Accident Prevention Plan and Activity Hazard Analysis under the 2024 book, with a review of Program Management for Contractors, Personal Protective and Safety Equipment, Fall Protection, Work Platforms and Scaffolding, Safe Access, and Excavation and Trenching.
Who can enroll: students who have completed a past 40-hour EM 385-1-1 (2014 USACE Book) course from Kugan & Associates, AGC, ABC, a university or a similar agency. You submit your past certificate for review before being admitted.
Note: This online course does not include an OSHA 30 – Construction card.
Course details
- Training material: 12+ hours of video and assignments. No more than 3 hours of video training is allowed per day.
- Online access: 45 days from first log-in. Average completion is 10 days; the course cannot be completed in 1–2 days.
- Assignments: two written assignments graded by the instructor within 2 business days. The AHA assignment takes 2–4 hours and the APP assignment 4–8 hours. You continue with the video modules once grading is complete.
- Quizzes: a short quiz follows each module. If you fail a module quiz, we reset it within 2 hours during business hours or 8 hours after hours; review the material before trying again.
- Final exam: 25 questions, open book. Pass with 70% or higher to receive your EM 385-1-1 (2024 USACE Book) certificate, valid for 5 years from completion.
- Refunds: full refunds are offered only for cancellations before Module 1.
