COMBO EM 385-1-1 Online Course Overview

This online COMBO course is for contractors, military and government employees who enforce or must comply with both the 2014 and 2024 versions of the EM 385-1-1 US Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Manuals. This two part COMBO course includes:

Part 1: (40) hour training course on 2014 40-Hour EM 385-1-1 (2014 USACE Book).

Part 2: (12) hour training course on 2024 12-Hour EM 385-1-1 (2024 USACE Book). This refresher training has special emphasis on review of Accident Prevention Plan and Activity Hazard Analysis using the EM 385-1-1 (2024 USACE Book) and review of Program Management, Personal Protective and Safety Equipment, Electrical, Fall Protection, Work Platforms and Scaffolding, Safe Access, and Ladders and Excavation and Trenching.

*Note: This online course does not include an OSHA 30 – Construction card.

Upon the completion of this course, you will receive an EM 385-1-1 certificate that is valid for 5 years for both 2014 USACE Book and 2024 USACE Book.

EM 385-1-1 Course Overview

Part 1: The 40-Hour EM 385-1-1 course is crucial for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment on military jobsites. We provide information relative to the 2014 US Army Corps Safety and Health Requirements Manual, EM385-1-1 and pertinent Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction standards. After each course module, a short quiz must be completed to check your knowledge. At the end of the course, you will take a Final Exam consisting of 80 questions which you must score 80% or higher to pass the course. After completing the Final Exam, you can print out your certificate which is valid for 5 years from course completion.

Part 2: The 12 Hour EM 385-1-1 (2024 USACE Book) Refresher training is to update and aid any Site Safety and Health Officer and any student who has attended a past 40 Hour EM 385-1-1 (2014 USACE Book) course and is already familiar with the EM-385-1-1 2014 manual. Special emphasis will be on review of Accident Prevention Plan and Activity Hazard Analysis using the EM 385-1-1 (2024 USACE Book) and review of Safety and Occupational Health Program Management for Contractors, Personal Protective and Safety Equipment, Fall Protection, Work Platforms and Scaffolding, Safe Access, and Excavation and Trenching. At the end of the course, you will take a Final Exam consisting of 25 questions which you must score 80% or higher to pass the course.
