Prerequisite:

Must have completed 3-Day Fall Protection within the last 24 months

NAVFAC/USACE Fall Protection Competent Person 3-Day In-Class Course

This course meets the NAVFAC/USACE requirements for fall protection competent person. This course is intended for competent persons that will be assigned to manage a fall protection program. Students will gain a thorough understanding of how to recognize fall hazards and take corrective action according to EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M. This program covers basic information common to all fall protection systems and works through multiple exercises. Our Competent Person Fall Protection Course will cover the use, selection and installation of conventional and non-conventional fall protection equipment. Our course will also address relevant fall protection regulations and fall hazard identification. These components, combined with hands-on exercises will instill a working knowledge of all the essential elements of a fall protection program. A written and practical (hands on) test will be administered at the end of the course to ensure that students have obtained a thorough understanding of the principles presented. After successful completion of this course, you will receive a certificate that will satisfy your company’s due diligence and meet the regulatory requirements.

NAVFAC/USACE Fall Protection Competent Person Retraining 1-Day In-Class Course

In accordance with ANSI Z359.2 (5.1.3), all Fall Protection Competent Persons shall have a retraining course at least every 2 years to stay current with updated equipment and standards.
To facilitate this requirement, Kugan & Associates has teamed with industry specialists to provide the appropriate Competent Person Refresher Training course.
This 16-hour Fall Protection Competent Person Refresher Training course is designed for those individuals who are currently responsible or assigned as a Competent Person on NAVFAC/USACE (EM 385-1-1) or private sector (OSHA 1926) construction projects or in the General Industry (OHSA 1910) environment. This course is aimed at refreshing the knowledge of the Competent Person and adding new skills and knowledge to remain current and up to date with rapidly changing fall protection regulations, best practices, and equipment advances.
At course completion, students will be given a certificate of completion in Competent Person for Fall Protection Refresher/Update in accordance with ANSI standards.
